Spring Percussion Concert

My oldest son had his Spring percussion concert Thursday night. I love going to these concerts. He does a great job.

When he was going into seventh grade and told me that he wanted to take percussion I was surprised. You see Jona has mild Autism and with that comes a dislike of loud noises. He had a hard time going to see movies because of the noise level.

I talked with him about that. And asked him if he was sure he wanted to take it because it would most likely get very loud in that class. He assured me that he wanted to take it. We signed him up and he's loved it.

I've loved it because he has good friends in there. His teacher has been awesome and it's built up his self esteem. Anyway, here is a video from last nights concert. He's the one in the yellow tie right up front and center. Enjoy.

That is so awesome! My daughter has Asspergers and I find that if she likes something it cant be loud enough! But if she doesn't like it even the slightest noise is horrendus to her. Thanks for the concert!

That was awesome. My 9 year old wants, wants, wants to learn to play the drums so badly. He keeps aksing me when I'm going to be nice and buy him a set.

Hey, they sound really good! I'm glad Jona has something that he loves so much - that also connects him to other kids that way. :)
