As we were driving in the car to pick up the older kids from piano a story came on the radio about a Serial Burglar. Jilli was riding in her booster chair in the back seat. From behind my head I hear this confused voice saying "Serial Burglar?". Now any other mom might have taken time to explain what they meant by that.
Not me. I messed with her head.
I told her that there was someone out there that went into people's houses and stole all of their cereal. "In the middle of the night?" she asks. "Just when ever" I answer. "Oh."
I probably should take her aside and clarify and tell her what a serial burglar actually is so she shouldn't worry about the safety of our house and cereal.
Right now I think we are safe from the "cereal" burglar because we are pretty low on cereal. I really need to make a Macey's run so that the kids have something for breakfast.
P.S. Today is the last day to leave a comment on the 200th post/giveaway!! Go leave one. Shoo... I'll post the winners tomorrow.

Too funny.
My 3 year old would be mad if they snuck in and stole his Kix.
So funny!
I miss Macey's, so BAD!!
I'm with Brooke...I miss Macey's pretty bad too - good case lot sales.
Go get some cereal from Albertsons today! And some brownies, granola bars, etc. (I get shivers just thinking about all of the good sales...)
Thats Funny! and totally something I would do...of course I am the one that told my kids "snowmen can't see in the dark".
My kids are obsessed with watching Home Alone. That means they are obsessed with someone breaking into our house. Wimps.
hahahaha...well if they were talking about the 'cereal' burglar, then you know they were speaking of moi! But if its the other type of burglar, I plead the 5th.
We must have had cereal burglars in our house in California!
you should probably tell her before she finds out from someone else. i can't imagine her taking that well. :)
by that i mean i can see her little scowl now. i can't help but smile.
when i was a kid, i was pretty embarrassed when i found out what a "strip mall" really was . . .
and my mom didn't even tell me otherwise, i just imagined in my head what a "strip mall" would be.
how funny! a Cereal Burglar would definitely love our house! :)
Ezra would be pretty mad if somebody ate all of his "eweol" though.
I'd love that job. I'd live off of cereal if my husband would let me.
LOL!! That is like some of the aprons I made for Girls Camp. Cereal Killer, Wok and Roll, etc. So cute!
Oh man! That is a RIOT!!!
oh, i love it. what a great story.
LOL :)
BAhaaaaaaaaaa
giggle
still giggling....
That is too funny.
You are my kind of mom. I would say something like that to my kids, without hesitating. Isn't that part of the fun of being a mom, is messing with little kids heads?
