Inquiring Minds Want to Know

I love hiking. I'm hoping that my family can do some fun hikes this Summer. So my question to you is....

Do you have any favorite hikes that you like to go on? Hikes in Utah are probably ones we could do but I'd like to hear about any and all favorite hikes that you have.

What are you favorite hikes?

I horrible...I'm not much of a hiker. I love the outdoors and I like to camp and go to the lake, but I'm not usually not to take a hike. Although..I like to tell people to "Take a Hike".

I hate hiking. Detest it. But my husband loves it. There is tons to do in Southern Utah. I know The Subway is one of my husband's favorites. A really easy one is Kolob Canyon (which is only 20 minutes from my house). If you want more, I could ask my husband!

I absolutely love Angels Landing in Zion. If you have older children, that one is worth it. If you're up in Cache Valley, Logan canyon has some fun hikes. There's one I think is called the China wall--we came up with all sorts of names for it when I was a kid, so I can't remember what its real name is--it's a beautiful hike.

Going upstairs. I haven't been hiking much lately. But I do enjoy it. I have some health issues right now, I it's a little tougher on me. But I think it's wonderful that you are going. Such memory makers.

I love taking my kids on the Stewart Falls hike at Sundance, it's 4 miles round trip and not too steep for your littler ones.

I'm not a big hiker. I love the outdoors, but I never seem to get my butt out there for a hike. But I did take one hike one time that blew my mind. I hiked The Narrows in Zion National park. In fact, I hiked it twice. Once from the top (it's a 2 day hike where you sleep in the canyon) and once from the bottom (a day hike, up river). I would HIGHLY recommend either. The 2 day hike is hard. I won't lie. It is KILLER. But it is also breathtaking. Totally worth it.

The Delicate Arch hike was tedious and difficult but SO worth it. I would like to pack in a lunch or a good camera the next time I go. I think in preparation for the hike, I'm also going to wear a pair of Mr. Darcy's pants. They seem like you can fit a lot of stuff in there.

We love hiking but live in NH so specific hikes we've been on won't help you. But....we love going to State Parks. We try to pick a different one each time we go hiking to keep it intersting.

All time favorite is the summit at Mt Timp (not the cave).

LOVE it! Have done it several times and it's on my bucket list to do once more.....

What part of UT do you live in? I love hiking, but haven't been in forever because of little kids, etc.
I've always loved Adams canyon (in Layton), Ogden canyon, Waterfall canyon (also in Ogden), Antelope Island (more like a little trail than a hike--we bike it).

I super love going to Mesa Verde (by Cortez, Colorado) because it's houses that indians from a million and two years ago carved into the cliffs. They had to get ladders to get to them - it's a.w.e.s.o.m.e.! The kiddos loved it too, btw.

You don't want to hike ANYWHERE in AZ in the summer! That is just beggnig for heat stroke. Now in the winter there are a lot of places!

I am so not a hiker! I love to hear about hikes! Love to see pics taken while hiking, but I just get into hiking! I am not sure what we will be doing this summer! Probably lots of sports camps!

We do a hiking club every summer with the kids, we all have fun! Maybe you and some of the ladies in your area could set it up!

I love walking----on the beach, in parks, hiking in conservation areas---anywhere there are trees and ponds. Walden Pond was a fun hike, by the way....

Those are my favorite places.

Zion and Grand Canyon are great hikes, although we did Grand Canyon with mules and helicopter (my mom was big and pregnant and just couldn't walk the whole way. Me? I was four years old).

Happy hiking!

PS: found you via Mormon Mommy blogs ;)

We love to hike the Devils Garden in Arches. Fun hike and there is lots to see along the way. You can also do a short hike or you can do the loop, which is guarenteed to poop your whole family out.
