Thankful Thursday

I have much to be Thankful for today so without further ado...

I am Thankful for...

• Cheerios on my kitchen floor and dirty dishes in my sink. This means that my family has food to eat, that my kids went to school with full belly's. Much of the worlds population cannot say this.
  

• Mount Washmore in my laundry room. Even though it is huge it helps me realize that my kids and my husband and I have clothes to wear to keep us safe and warm (and somewhat stylish). Especially with the colder months coming on. I am intent on making a small dent in that mountain today.
  

• For a supportive husband who has believed in me even when I didn't believe in myself. I put my application in for a job as a scrapbook artist at a local stamp company. Ty has always given me positive encouragement about my talent. So even though I was nervous to put myself out there I did it. And I have an interview with the company next Friday!!

• For supportive and loving friends who have, along with my husband, given me encouragement and compliments about my crafty endeavors.

• For clean kids' rooms even if the rest of the house is not. For some reason when the kids' rooms are clean it seems that all is right in the world. I am working on the rest of the house as well.

• For Fall and the memories that come with it. Even if they are hard ones.
  I am thankful for every. single. one.

• For the right I had to vote in our local election on Tuesday. It's a privilege that many people are denied and, sadly, one that much of our nation takes for granted.

• For prayer. Honestly, if you have needs, concerns, joys, sorrows...get on your knees and pray. You will be heard. You have a Father in Heaven who wants to hear from you. He listens. He knows you and your wants, needs and worries. He wants you to talk to Him about your concerns for the weather on Halloween or how you are fretting about possibly going back into the workforce after 14 years. He wants to share your joy as you get the call for that interview. He loves you. I know it because I know He loves me. And He has heard and answered my prayers. And today, for that, I am immeasurably Thankful.
  

Thankful Thrusday

Today I am Thankful for...

• My heart that is back to it's normal beat.
• My new washer and dryer which have been going pretty much non stop since they arrived.
• A husband who follows his dreams
• My "new to me" yellow couch that brightens up my living room.
• And since I have a "new to me" couch in my front room I was able to move my super comfy couch downstairs and now we have enough seating for everyone in the family downstairs.
• Paint.
• New haircuts that are much easier to take care of.
  

Thankful Thursday

Today I am Thankful....

• That my husband is happy. He has found his passion in yoga and you can tell. He will be visiting Florida in the next little while to work on his teaching certificate. I love how excited he is about this. He's worked hard to make this happen and it does my heart good to see him following his dreams. (Even if those dreams do lead him to a certain school that will remain un-named.)

• I am Thankful for this... Seriously. How did/do people live without this?
  

• Only seven more days until Summer break for the kids. And yes, right now, I am looking forward to it. My attitude may change seven days into Summer break but right now I am looking forward to spending more time with my four podlings.

• For a good walking buddy. Mindi is good company and that is just what I need right now.

• For this...yes even with the little clouds and lightning on it. I love thunder showers. LOVE them and it seems like the last few years I have been short changed in this department. We had a really nice thunder shower yesterday. That and this is more "Spring-like" weather that I enjoy.

• And of course for this...I'm still on the learning curve with it but I am loving it.

• I'm Thankful that it looks like exercise should be able to get my heart beating correctly again and that it wasn't something more serious.

• I'm Thankful that today is payday so I can go out and get my fridge stocked up.

• I'm Thankful for a great man who goes to work everyday and makes it so I can be at home with the kids.

• I'm Thankful for the good weather. It's been beautiful here and I have enjoyed seeing the blue sky and the blooming flowers.

• I'm Thankful for yummy bbq's mmm..... I've cooked outside twice this past week and I'm thinking I may do it again tonight.

I'm thankful today that I have this amazing internet thing that I can search when a tune on a commercial catches my ear and I want to hear more of it. Because usually you only get to hear a blip of the song during the commercials.

I am also Thankful today for a wonderful Mother-in-Law. You know all those mil jokes? None of them applies to her. Not one. She's A-Maze-Ing. I'm really thankful that things are looking better for her in the health department. Keep getting better Mom.

Thankful Thursday

• I'm Thankful for a little six year old that snuggled up next to my back this morning. Really there is nothing that feels much better than a little body (or a big body ;) of someone you love snuggled in close to your back.

• I'm Thankful that I live close to a temple and for the peace that can be found there.

• I'm Thankful for a husband who puts up with me.

• I'm Thankful that I am surrounded by family who love and care about me.

• I'm Thankful for four beautiful, good kids.

• I'm Thankful for an older Brother who loved me enough to die for me. Not only did He die for me but He took on the sins and the sorrows of the whole world so that He could know exactly how I'm feeling. In that knowledge I can turn to Him and know that He will understand. I am beyond Thankful for that. In fact I can never be Thankful enough, but I'm sure going to try.

• I'm Thankful for this meme. Right now I'm running short of things to come up with so as I was thinking "What am I going to blog about?" I realized it was Thursday so I could do Thankful Thursday.
  

• I'm thankful for chickens and the lovely white ovals that come out of their hineys. Eggs=Yum.

• I'm thankful for this blogging world. To know that other women out there are thinking the same things I'm thinking, or going through the same things I'm going through. And conversely to read other view points from my own, getting to travel vicariously through other blogs and see that maybe my trials aren't all that much to worry about. The blogoshpere offers me all of this from the comfort of my couch. How awesome is that?

• I am thankful for my wrinkles. Yes you read that right. I am earning every single one of them. I look at my mom's face and the face of my grandma and my aunts and see the wrinkles there. They are some of the most beautiful people I know. I hate the fact that in our country we don't revere the elderly. We want them out of site and out of mind. Why? They are the ones who have made it possible to be where we are today. So even though I may try to fight the wrinkles I am thankful for them. Strange I know.

• I'm thankful that my dad's headstone was installed yesterday and it is beautiful.
  

• I'm thankful for the knowledge that my dad isn't in a box under that headstone. His body is but he isn't. I know that will see my dad again someday. And I am so excited for that day. To see him walking tall and strong and be able to feel his arms around me once again. To sit by his side and hold his hands. His big beautiful hands. It will happen. That knowledge makes the days I spend missing him a little bit more bearable. (Miss you dad)

Today I am Thankful for...

• Prayer. It is always amazing to me that my Heavenly Father actually listens to my problems and cares about them. But it amazes me the most when I can see or feel definitive answers to my prayers. I know that sometimes I don't get the answers I want or the answer is "Wait. Be patient." Those answers are never easy. But He does answer. He hears me. He loves me and cares about me enough to listen no matter how big or small my problems. He hears me.
• Scriptures. Especially modern day scriptures. Especially these that I read just this morning. 2 Nephi 4:28-30. These scriptures were meant for me. Especially giving up the anger part.
  

"Awake, my soul! No longer droop in sin. Rejoice, O my heart, and give place no more for the enemy of my soul. Do not anger again because of mine enemies. Do not slacken my strength because of mine afflictions. Rejoice, O my heart, and cry unto the Lord, and say: O Lord, I will praise thee forever; yea, my soul will rejoice in thee, my God, and the rock of my salvation. "

• The Temple: I was able to attend the temple with my older sister on Tuesday. She called me and asked me if I wanted to go with her. That phone call, in and of itself, was an answer to one of my prayers. To be in the temple, the house of the Lord here on the earth. To be so close and feel His spirit. I am so Thankful for this blessing in my life.
• My mom: I'm thankful for her faith and her love and her example.
• My husband: For his listening ear and his strong shoulder that he lets me lean on frequently.

Today I am Thankful for...

• Thankful Thursday. That's right. I'm thankful for this little meme that gives me something to blog about when I don't feel that I have much to blog about. I mean I did blog about the death of my radio but that's a downer post and I didn't want to end with that.
• I'm Thankful for the drama that I have in my life, which is really very minimal. I know this sounds strange but when I hear how other people's lives are filled with drama serious, serious drama. I'm talking murder and baby daddy type drama it makes me ultra grateful for the minimality of mine.
  
• Furniture sliders. Yes the do work. I can move my tall six shelf bookcase full of books without emptying it. These suckers are miracles for me because I am an obsessive furniture rearranger. It used to be once a month now it's closer to quarterly.
• I'm thankful for my husband and his willingness to take care of our family and make it so I can be a sahm. I'm also thankful for his job security. Need I say more?
  
• I'm thankful for my bed. Yep. I sure am. I had a conversation with my kids last night about this very thing. I think I'll save the details for another post though.
• And I'm thankful for in-laws, who upon hearing of the death in our family, sent me home with a boom box with a radio and cd player!

Today I am Thankful for:

• Nice people who work at stores. I love going shopping and having the people who work at the store be happy, helpful. It can make my whole day. Sounds weird I know but it's true. I'll go back to a store just because of the employees.

• The Gilmore Girls. This show cracks me up!! Paris is hilarious. I wish I could talk as fast as they do on this show and be as funny.
  

• Melting. Specifically the fact that the snow is almost all done melting. Yay!!

• Indoor plumbing. I love this. It's better than sliced bread.
