A Love/Hate relationship

I have a Love/Hate relationship.

With these...
Oh how I love the delicious taste.
The creamy, yummy, chewiness of them all.
Oh and put chocolate on top of it???
Heaven.

How then, oh how, could I have any hate for these
pieces of mouth joy?

Because they cause this....This happened just before my walk at around 10:30a.m.
I called my dentist immediately.
The soonest they could get me in?
11:00 a.m. Thursday.

Great.

I just got another phone call.
They had a cancellation.
I'm heading to the dentist today.
To get my cap fixed.
And to hang my head in shame as I tell him
what I was eating when it happened.

This is the second time I have lost a cap to caramel.
The first time I was out camping.

Ahhhh Caramel!!
You are such a temptress and tooth breaker.

I love/hate you.

Oh no! Good thing I don't have any crowns so I can just love them.

It's so unfair that things we love can cause us so much pain.

I do love a good carmel. YUM!

Bummer about your crown, though. That doesn't sound like much fun at all.

Yikes! I'm glad the dentist is able to get you in. No more caramels for you!!

Oh wow--I'm so sorry! How about chewing with just your front teeth? Or sucking?

(hugs) I have been there! I pulled out one of my crowns (caps) with the square caramel, and another one with a Starburst. LOL

You and caramels do not have a good relationship. I really think you need to kiss them goodbye. Sorry, just some honesty there for ya!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh! I would have freaked out. Have fun at the dentist!

My teeth are all falling out anyway...I should go get some caramel and make it more fun! ;o)

Those look like the homemade caramels that my mom makes. They are worth losing a tooth over.

I won't tell you how many crowns I have.

I once broke a tooth eating ice cream. (it had pecans in it)
My dentist asked me if I was eating rocks.

That is just your crown? It looks like your entire tooth. I was very scared after seeing this photo.

Good luck at the dentist. Oh, and when he asked how this happened...just LIE. Apples can be deadly, you know.

don't feel too bad - it's our lot with teeth.

i've broken a tooth or braces on everything from popcorn to pop tarts.

don't even get me started on erynn - she broke the same tooth three times! once on a pogo stick, once with some binoculars and finally while using her teeth to open a bag of candy.

when it comes to teeth we really don't have any luck.

I don't have any crowns but I used to be a dental assistant and have recemented a ton back in due to caramels. But if that could pull it off, it needed to come off because that meant the glue was failing.

Please no more food posts until I'm off my diet : )

Oh dear---I have been losing crowns right and left the past few years---I am practically toothless!

But I don't have the money for a dentist, so I suffer.

I've lost fillings to caramel, but never a tooth. You poor thing!

Becca said...

Oh how I feel your pain, except mine isn't a cap--it's a real tooth--and I wondered what was crunching in those caramels. Didn't figure it out until I swallowed! YUCK!

Becca - eeek! that's so messed up! ha ha ha ha ha! love it!

So - Ah, brings back memories of a beautiful, breezy spring day in Monroe, Utah. I remember it well.I lost my very first crown to a Sugar Daddy,(the delicious caramel sucker, not a rich creepy man that had somehow made his way onto my bus...just so we're clear.)

I had to go to the dentist right away.

It was worth it.
It always is.
