Humiliation

There is nothing like a good dose of humiliation to ground a girl.

I got my dose by being in a step class. Step class was only a little humiliating. My non-coordination and inability to keep up with the instructor most of the time, that I can deal with pretty well.

Having a bunch of high school kids walk by the open doorway and stop to get drinks right there by the open door as my over 200 pound self is sweating and looking generally bad. That is humiliation.

I realize that they are high school kids and their laughter didn't bother me....much.

Ah well I'll deal. I always do.

Oh, honey. I love my step class, because everyone looks like me, however, if some HS students walked by and laughed, I would be humiliated, too! I'm so sorry!

So sorry about the humiliation, but so happy and proud that you even went to a step class. Good for you!

Hey, you are going!!! That is what matters. And rememebr, kharma is a beast, so those kids will be there too in a few years!

After our power pump class yesterday the teacher did one Zumba song to give us all a taste of it. GAG. I felt like an uncoordinated old timer trying to dance the flamingo or something. Lame. I actually left the class, which I never do!

Hey sexy! you are there. Funny, w/ being on FB now, seeing so many skinny HS friends who are not so skinny anymore, really has made me smile, age is some round middles baby :)

you keep it up! I am not laughing at ya!

Aw, those kids are big dummies. :( I know what you mean - in your head you know they're just being self-absorbed, egocentric, insecure teens ----- but it still stings. :/ Heck, they probably just think step aerobics is dorky - probably had nothing to do with you in particular, punkin.

I always loved step class. It was so great being on the lowest step while all the skinny women around me had like 6 risers.

I had to ask last weekend what "spinning" was. I haven't been to an exercise class of any kind since I was 19. Good for you for doing it!

At least you are working out!! Most high schoolers are retarded anyway. When I was lived in Hawaii I was leaving the movie theater and had a car full of them drive around us while they called me a beached whale and other hurtful things...but what goes around comes around, right?!

Ah, step class. It is like jazzercise, but on crack, no?

You are a stronger woman than I to brave the step class. I have to tell you that I definitely admire you for it. You inspire me to be a better woman...at least for a day or two. :)

Are they still playing the techno versions of the latest hits as background music?

My problem with step class is that I can't follow the friggin' routines. If they throw any kind of turn in there, I'm screwed. And hand movements, forget it.

Keep it up, and phooey on the snigglers, Shanna. Let it just be your new lifestyle, and enjoy the journey. It took me several years to shed my 60-70 pounds.
