Glamour Shots Gone Wild

So Kristina is having a blog carnival where you post your "Glamour Shots" that you had done.

Sadly I have no actual Glamour Shots BUT I do have an awesome session at Olan Mills when I turned Sweet Sixteen.

There may or may not have been a wicker chair involved....Okay there was, but I don't have that picture at my finger tips.

Here is the one that I do have.
See the awesome peach dress?
I was obsessed with Peach. I had a peach bedroom with a peach comforter and frilly peach curtains.

Honestly.

Oh and in case you were wondering? Yes I am rocking an awesome sailor type collar on that dress and it was a drop waist with a pleated bottom.

And could my hair be any more FRIED??? I don't think so. Perms are of the devil.

There you have it.

Now.

It's YOUR TURN!!!
Dig out your most awesome "Glamour Shot" evah.
Head on over to Kristina's blog and
join us all in the beauty that is
the Glamour Shots Blog Carnival!!

DO IT!

Love it. I've been waiting for the picture, and you didn't disappoint. It was really everything that makes you glad the 80's and 90's are over.

Do you know what would complete that picture? If it were one of those mirror shots with your face put onto the lower right corner of that same shot. It's exactly what that picture needs! Plus, then we could see more of the beautiful dress:)

Hotness! Olan Mills. Are they still in business? I think we should all go get one together NOW!

Love the Olan Mills picture! I need to find my Glam Shot so I can play along!

Whoa! You look mad! Speaking of peach... did you happen to have that Barbie in the giant peach dress with the scarf that snapped off and on? I totally wanted her... never got her.

Classic! LOVE Olan Mills!

I'm pretty sure I used to have the same dress and the same hair do. Oh the memories of the drop waist with the pleats.

You look so...peaceful in your picture. Do you have anything peach colored anymore?

Peach and perm! Perfect!

OK, I'm going to pee my pants! The peach is AWESOME, but more awesome than that is your FLOATING BODY! OH MY!

Emily said...

Ah, yes. Peach. I can almost smell the late 80s-early 90s.

You have beautiful eyes. And about the hair... you're off the hook because everyone had it.

Hey, at least you could style your own hair! I tried to recreate my glamour shot 'do and ended up looking rather scary.

And who doesn't love peach when they're 16?!

Beautiful!
I used to work at a kiddie kandids photo studio and people would always come in and ask if we did olin mills style photos. Now I see why.

Rachel Sue said...

Oh that I had a scanner. I actually think that somewhere along the line I have a pic from Olan mills with my face in the mirror.

I love it. I'm pretty sure I had a dress like that at one point. . .

Peach was so in wasn't it? I remember my aunt had an entire peach bedroom and living room. It was all the rage. LOVE the picture!

So pretty! I wish I had ever had any kind of glamour shot taken but unless baby pics count I never got them!

First off - LOVE the shot! Second - I was also obsessed with peach and I remember exactly why; I read in one of those teen magazines that everyone looks good in peach and something about boys being attracted to girls who wore peach. In my desperation to attract someone of the opposite sex, almost my entire wardrobe became peach colored.

Awesome.

I had a peach room too. I loved it. And then my mom convinced me to have my wedding colors be peach.

We are soul mates.

Yes, there is one decade if people grew up in that will date them forever :)

I can only say I too did the glamour shot, but I am too ashamed to ACTUALLY show it to anyone! Mine had the Mirror shot, the action shot, the hands under my chin shot, the sit/stand next to a ladder shot, wear a flower hat/laying on the floor shot-oh well! I wonder what we are doing now that we think is cool- that 10-20 years done the road we will be cringing at? I think I need to find these and burn them ;)

Camille said...

Oh, Peach defined the 80's! As well as the perm! :) You look awesome in your pics.

@Alisha No, she's not angry...that's just her family scowl. Angry, however, looks just like that only with lots of anger...be afraid. ;)

I had a peach and blue room. Complete with all the little crafty handpainted stuff on little peach shelves. We were so in.

Love the pic. The only glamour shots I have are ones in lingerie that I did for my hubby. I'm embarrassed just typing that out.

Omgirl said...

I had a peach bedroom too! Peach carpet, peach walls, peach and white bedding. Nothing wrong with peach. (Perms on the other hand...)

I'm truly sad that I don't have a glamour shot like this. I went au naturale with my senior year look, so my shots are actually shockingly timeless and good. Doesn't make for a very good 80's Glam Shot post. :(

(Now if only I could find my yearbook picture from 10th grade. While not very glamourous, highly embarrassing is a good runner up...)

Shoot, I never quite got around to getting glamor shots done, but there was a mom of one of my summer camp kids who gave me a set. They were of her two daughters.

Firstly, I thought it was creepy that she'd give them to me as her daughters were 5 and 7 at the time (the older one was in my summer camp group). Secondly, they both looked completely cheap and unfortunately Mattie, the 7 year old, looked more like a grandma in her shot. I kept the photos long enough for her to leave and then got rid of them shortly thereafter.

Yeah, wrapping oneself in bubble wrap and boas is probably not the best idea.

My sister adored peach, nuff said.

I wish there was a wine glass super-imposed over you. It is great!

Can't say I have any glamour shots laying around - so I will have to live through yours.

WHICH IS FABULOUS! ;)

Loooooooooooooove the fried hair! Hahaha! You could name that picture after a dessert and call it "creme fried peaches" and all of a sudden, you look delicious!!!

Sher said...

LOVE that permed hair!

I'm only disappointed that you didn't have the "echo" picture floating up in the corner.

I am disappointed that I never have had a glamour shot done!
