20 years

Is about how old I feel but in actuality it's how long I've been out of high school.

Hard to believe I know.

So our class held it's 20 year reunion on August first. I wanted to lose about 50 pounds before then but that didn't happen. And it was okay.

It started out in the afternoon with a barbecue held up behind our high school. It was for families and they had bouncy houses and inflatables and water for the kids. There were hamburgers and hot dogs to munch on and good friends that I hadn't seen for years to talk with.

As we were first walking up to the place Tyran looks at me and says "Do you recognize anyone?" There were people there but I was having a hard time placing names with faces. In fact I had one classmate that came up to me and said "I know you!" and I had to say "I'm sorry you're going to have to tell me your name!" Once she told me her name I could totally see who it was but I felt terrible!! She was at the afternoon barbecue but she didn't come to the dinner later on that night and I hope it wasn't because I was such an idiot.

It was really fun to see everyone and fun to see their kids as well.

Then later that night we had a dinner just for the adults. It was very nice. They had name "tags" that had our pictures from our Senior year along with our names and they hung them around our necks with lovely blue lanyards that had "Vikings" on them. I loved them having our Senior pics so you could look and see how much people had or hadn't changed.

They also had our Class Photo blown up and hanging on the wall. Here are me and Ty pointing out our 20 year younger selves....
That was fabulous seeing all the big hair and the mullets. Sweet.

They had a slide show of pictures from high school and they also had a great live band. Two guys in our class played in it on the drums and the guitar. Very cool.

We stayed around for awhile. We didn't close out the party. There were those that did though and I heard it was much fun but I am old. And we had 9 a.m. church in the morning. Here is a picture that they took from the balcony of everyone that was there. I'm in the blue shirt in the center.

I'm looking forward to the next one in how every many years we have it.

I'm glad you had a good time! I pretty much blocked my senior year out, and just realized that I have no idea if we had a group senior picture.

So you both graduated together? How fun! (So did Christian and I) It sounds like you had a great time. I will be going to my 20 year before long.

I have my ten year reunion this year... unfortunately it is in October and back in Illinois so I won't be able to make it.

How fun! My 10 year is coming up next year and I can't decide if I'm excited to see every one or not. . . I'm glad you had a great time.

"All hail to you old PG High..." I hope that you sang that at some point :)

Wow! That's so fun. I have my 10 year reunion coming up, but it's all the way in Maryland. I'm just not sure if I want to make the trek (since I have no family there now), but for 20 years I'd totally do it. Especially since good clean living helps you age a little better than others.

And I know what you mean about feeling 20. I feel about 20 or 21 still. Weird how that works.

I was gonna say name tags are essential! In fact my Dad's last reunion had pins with the name and PICTURE from high school! THAT is what you need!

My 10 year reunion was a couple of years ago and a little random...it seemed more about impressing others than about reuniting. It'll be interesting to see what the 20 year is like....they gave the planning of that reunion away as a "prize" at the 10 yr reunion. Classy.

Glad you were able to have a lot of fun...every time I pass through my old hometown I cringe. I think a reunion for me would be a totally different experience than yours was...

That is an awesome turnout for a reunion!

Glad you had fun!

Glad you had fun at the reunion. My husband's 20th is next year, and mine will be a few years after that. I'm not excited. I think I'll skip it.

Sounds like it was fun!
I skipped my 10th reunion. I was no where near popular.
