- Took two loads of laundry over to my moms. (my dryer is still broken)
- Picked up some green beans and pressure cooker from my moms.
- Took the vacuum apart to see if it needed a new belt. (It did. Thankfully I had an extra one on hand.)
- Took the vacuum bottom off and changed the vacuum belt.
- Proceeded to vacuum the downstairs living room.
- Moved computer cord out of the way so that the vacuum wouldn't suck it up.
- Watched as the vacuum sucked up a corner of a blanket instead.
- Saw smoke coming from the vacuum.
- Turned it off as fast as I could. (I was too late)
- Took the bottom off of the vacuum to remove new broken belt.
- Drove to the local hardware store in hopes that they would have the vacuum belt. (I like to shop in town and support the little guy when I can)
- Broke my flip flop as I was walking into said hardware store.
- Picked up my flip flop and walked with as much dignity as one can wearing only one flip flop into said hardware store.
- Looked for the correct belt. (they did not have it)
- Walked back out of the store and through the parking lot with as much dignity as one can wearing only one flip flop .
- Drove home
- Blogged it.

YOu and that vacuum have been busy!
Here I am, imagining you walking with dignity and your head held high while only wearing one flip flop. Priceless!
Of course you blogged it. I would have done the same thing.
Oh gosh, I totally sympathize with moments like this. REALLY! At least you got it all done in an hour.
You're amazing. That's a lot to do in one hour!
You have been busy.
I've broken a flip flop like that to, it is the worst. And I so would have blogged about it if that all happened to me.
Hopefully tomorrow things work out a little more for you.
I know that dignified walk must have been extra hard because, if you were at Ace Allred's like I pictured, you'd probably see at least two people you knew. That's at the very least.
Anyway, you did all that in one hour?!
Now that's a sign that you shouldn't vacuum.
Oh wow! Do you make dilly beans in the pressure cooker? My momma does and my kids eat them everytime they go over there. Personally, I can't eat them. You've had a very busy hour indeed. I hope you have a better evening.
Now, if you would have just cracked the whip on one of those little people living in your house, you could have simply WATCHED all of that happen...
Aw I am sorry about your flip-flops!!
Oh Shanna! :0
Oh, you're good.
I have sat here and sipped a soda.
An hour like that deserves nothing less than the honor of becoming blog fodder. . .
It would have taken me WAY more than an hour to do all that. Good job!
Just when you thought you had nothing to blog about.
And you thought you wouldn't be busy once the kids went back to school...
i don't know how you could've gotten all that done in one hour but i'm pretty impressed. you should hold your head up high with dignity, broken flip flop and all.
you make me giggle! I have to take the vacuum all apart every time I need to vacuum because our vacuum bites! never sucks!
Seriously - your vacuum got some serious action.
