Unsolicited Advice

Just some advice from me. Things I've made note of in my head and feel others could benefit from...or not.

  • If you are an author and want people to be surprised by the ending of your book don't put a picture of that ending on the front cover.
  • Also if you are an author and your book gets made into a movie. Don't let Hollywood completely change the ending of the book in the movie. I don't care what the Hollywood executives told you or paid you. Your ending in the book was the way it was supposed to be. Any other ending just isn't right.
  • If you get your hair cut like a certain mom who has eight kids and is getting a divorce from her husband expect some stares and know that other moms are probably making comments about it. If not to your face then they are thinking it. I know I was.
  • If you don't eat many raw vegetables and then all of the sudden start up, expect that your digestive system is going to make some noise about it. And it won't be pretty.
  • Sharks are completely amazing. Especially this one.
  • If you know it's someones birthday and you call them on their birthday to discuss something that could probably wait at least a day then the birthday person will most likely not answer the phone or return your call. They are celebrating their birthday.
  • A rockin' new outfit can make you feel great. Especially when your husband tells you how good you look in it as well as other people.

Wow-I'm totally curious about this book and movie.

And about the rockin' outfit. Where are the pictures so the rest of us can join in on telling you how great you look?

Seriously..you saw someone with that haircut and she didn't have 8 kids toddling behind her?

Note to self: cancel my appoiontment to get my hair cut like a certain mother of 8. It really won't be a good idea after all to be all matchy matchy with her.

Did I read that right?! Someone ACTUALLY had that same haircut?! WOW!!

Great advise!! I am right there with you!! And I am SURE that your lookes like one HOT mama in your new outfit!!

I will never get the Kate haircut. And, yeah, if I see someone with it, I will at least snicker to myself.

I totally know which movie you're talking about. Makes me MAD. Whatever.

I hear you on the digestion. Went through that about a week ago. Vicious and numerous trips to the restroom...

I'm guessing that you wore your new hottie outfit yesterday? So please wear it again next week!!! I wasn't at church - Clint was sick :( But I'm mad I missed the new outfit.

Crap! My hair sucks I know it! ugh ugh ugh...I should have thought that one over twice.

ohhh and by the way you do look rockin' awesome!

All of these things are good to know. Don't call someone on their birthday unless it is to wish them a happy birthday. Don't get an ugly haircut, but DO get a rockin' new outfit. Check, check, and check!

it's good advice and too true!

Your advice is very sound!

I saw someone's twitter profile with that haircut the other day and I wondered if she would rush out and have that style redone ASAP!

I am feeling a bit sick to my stomach after looking at those pictures on Shark Bait's blog. UGH!
I am sure you looked great!

Ok, I am with you on most of this advice. I disagree about the book advice though. I think it is a big mistake for movie makers to feel too tied down by a book. A book cannot be translated as is into a great movie. There's too much in a book. It has to be changed in order to work. Look at the early Harry Potter movies as evidence of sticking too close. Wow! Too much going on. Look at I am Legend as a good example of doing something different. The movie was 100% better than the book!

Oh, and sharks are very interesting kissing partners too!

So THAT'S why everyone was pointing and staring at me!!! Good to know.

What book are you talking about?? I wanna know!

I'll go to HM movie with you, still! Even though my kids are gone for two weeks. Call me and we'll plan it. Or text...but the movie will have made it to TV by the time you finish the text.

Cranberryfries said...

I'm totally curious about the book/movie too. Do tell.

A rockin new outfit does amazing wonders. For a long time.

The book has to be My Sisters Keeper...and I HATED the twist at the end. (Don't hate me for that one)
I was kind of hoping the movie would be different.
And REALLY....the haircut is legal somewhere besides exploit myself and my family-land?
